hi chris, Please say everything about the tourist visa charges and the total amount to stay for one month in thailand in us dollars.If somebody wants to stay there for more than one month in thailand, whtat they have to do for the extension of visa and the needed other things.Are there many job oppertunities for call centre agents in the country. I f some body knows reply me then. ok thank you.

For residents of most countries, you get a free 30 day tourist stamp at the aorport.

Tomorrow a friend is going to immigration to try to get an additional 30 days, will report back.

It is correct that Thailand gives 30 days free of charge for tourists who come from most countries. Thailand is currently issuing the 60-day visa free of charge. If you wish to extend your stay you must go to an immigration office a few days before your visa expires to apply for an extension. Thailand does charge for extensions. The fee is 1900 baht in most cases and you are normally granted a ten-day extension. In most cases you are granted an extension only once.

I don't know what kind of job opportunities there are for call centres, but I do know that you cannot be employed unless you have a work permit. If a company wishes to hire you as a call centre employee they will probably take care of getting a work permit for you, but you cannot be issued a work permit on a tourist visa. You are eligible for a work permit only if you hold a non-immigrant visa.

What is your citizenship? For many western countries a thirty day arrival visa is free. I would not count on any job oppurtunities. It may be difficult and expensive for you to obtain a work visa and permit.

A friend on a 30 day stamp went to Jomtien Immigration today.

Barry Kenyon, British consul, told him he'd only be able to get a 7 day extension.

So if you're going to be in Thailand for more than a month get it handled in your home country.

Depends on your frame of mind, whether the Cambodia run is dreaded. Several years have past since my last run and it was very easy. The meeting point was at a hotel on Soi Backou. I had the included breakfast at around 6:30 in the morning. We then loaded up the comfy van and headed to Cambodia. At the border, the company did all the work and most of the passengers did a little shopping. Viagra is cheap in Cambodia and some of the guys refilled their stocks. Met back at the border, had a provided light lunch and back in Pattaya around 2:30. At the time the price was 2,000 baht for everything. Today prices have gone up a bit and now you are allowed only a 15 day visa instead of an additional 30 days.

Based on what you say, I wouldn't call it dreaded either. The one and only time I did a run. No breakfast was provided, only 1 bottle of water. We had a lunch on the way back, but wasn't very good. We had to stand in line to get checked into Cambodia and then stand in line again to get the visa and once more to be checked into Thailand.

This is the only time I experienced the organized border run. Don't get me wrong, it is not a trip I look forward to doing again. The breakfast and lunch were included but wasn't anything to brag about. Although the mini van was comfortable, I would rather been lounging on the beach. There was a small line at the border but the company filled out the paperwork and all I did was sign it. Met some other farangs and learned about cheap shopping in Cambodia. All in all, it was an alright trip.

The 7 day extension costs 1,900 baht. No matter how long you extend. 30 days + 7 days is the maximum you can extend when entering Thailand on a Visa on Arrival stamp. If you applied for a tourist visa before you entered Thailand, you get a 60 day stamp and can extend for another 30 days. In most cases 90 days is the longest time you can spend in Thailand, and then you must exit Thailand. There are exceptions to this, such as have a work permit, over 50 with pension or money in the bank, or have Thai wife (with money in Thai bank or income). All those cases have strict financial requirements and you must have entered Thailand under a non-immigrant visa

Hello deepu, regarding the tourist visa for a month, I think you were meaning a visa exemption (30 days visa) which you can get at the international airport of Thailand. For the fee, you'll have to pay for the immigration office in the rate of 1,900 Bahts (around 60 USD) in case you want to extend your stay not exceeding 7-14 days (depending on your nationality). However, if you also plan to work or open a business in Kingdom, you should have a non immigrant B visa before entering Thailand.
