I like the Who but thought the show was lame.

It just seems odd to have 60 year olds performing and acting like their 20.

I liked the Who in their heyday. I didn't see the halftime show, but agree it is odd for 60 something performers trying to recreate the past.

On the other hand, a performer who sings standards can keep going forever as long as his voice holds up.

But if the rock n rollers look pathetic, wait till gangsta rappers in their 60's perform at halftime in 2035.

Frank Sinatra still had a voice in his golden years and looked alright. Some of these fat, balding, old rockers just look silly to me.

Sinatra would look silly too if he dressed like Roger Daltry.

Mick Jagger's in fantastic shape for his age. But it doesn't matter to me, every time I see him I'm aware he's over 65 and I wonder why he's still at it.

Just saw a rerun of the Super Bowl. Daltry and Townshend looked horrible plus the sound and video seemed out of synch. The camera focused quite a bit on the youngish drummer.

Why don't these guys retire gracefully? Do they need the money?

My guess is that despite the millions they made that they still need the money.

No matter how much money one has, it seems you can always use a little more. Or maybe they just love to play music in front of a large audience? For some that is an adrenaline rush.

For guys like Jagger, it'd be hard to contemplate that he would need the money. But I would imagine that they simply have to get the adrenaline rush, as you say, of performing live before adoring fans. And, for some of them, it's probably fun in part to perform and to be around your long-time friends. While most of them probably love their home life and private time, the urge to essentially go party and be treated like royalty has to tug at their hearts occasionally.

Mick Jagger probably doesn't need the money, but as much money Michael Jackson earned in his lifetime, you wouldn't have thought he needed to return touring.

Lots of entertainers and sports stars end up bankrupt.

Some shooting stars spend their money like it will never end. It is quite a wake-up call when they find they are down and out in Beverly Hills.

Always amazing to see people that have earned millions piss it all away. But a lot of them were young and stupid (versus "old and stupid", I suppose), had no clue how to manage money, and presumed it would last forever.

I remember when my home state started the state lottery some 30(?) years ago or so. The original deal was for a million dollars (but paid at the rate of $50,000.00 a year for 20 years) and too many of the winners were dumb enough to think they were millionaires. Supposedly, 4 out of the first 7 winners ended up filing bankruptcy.

Think it's extremely common for lottery winners to go bankrupt.

Playing lotteries in the extreme amounts that most winners do, shows poor money management skills to start off with.
