Has anyone had the pleasure of one of these at all on their travels? I believe they are testing one at Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi although it is on a purely voluntary basis.
One wonders how many people chose to be subjected to this and whether the numbers were sufficient for a valid trial. Perhaps they will need a further period of testing with
slightly more bias on the 'random compulsory'.
An interesting and contentious subject this considering all the issues with regard to privacy etc. Any thoughts?

Not sure what a bodyscan is but I don't mind being patted down, no big deal to me.

The full body scanners use a millimeter wave technology, which emits 10,000 times less radio frequency than a cell phone. The machine scans a person and produces a robotic image. This allows security personnel to detect potential threats, metallic and non-metallic hidden under a person's clothing. The TSA wants to use these machines because a scan can be conducted in about 20 seconds as opposed to a couple of minutes for a pat-down. I think it is a good idea.
