Due to the violence between the Thai military and the Red Shirt protesters, and the proximity to the embassy, the US embassy has announced they are now closed until further notice. The embassy further announced that American Citizens Services will be available to handle emergencies, but only emergencies until the area is deemed safe. There is no way to predict how soon normal services will open again. Of course we will make sure a message is posted here once full service is reestablished.
I have not received word of any other embassies closing. At this time, as far as I know all other embassies are open. If there are any changes, I will post here as soon as I become aware.
